Meet Ann, your tutor
I am a primary teacher and tutor, based in Newport, who specialises in English and Maths within various education authorities and as a private tutor. I believe that providing students with relevant and additional skills is not only a fundamental and important part of academic learning, but also a foundation of analytical thinking. My one-to-one tuition in Monmouthshire is ideal for helping people of all ages attain the skills they need to thrive.
My experience in teaching
In addition to being a member of the senior management team, I have coordinated English throughout the junior sector and liaised successfully with parents, achieving the understanding and support that is critical in the learning process. In my role as Special Educational Needs Coordinator, I have gained an in-depth understanding of relevant issues and I am able to provide successful and productive teaching and one-to-one tuition in Monmouthshire, to create successful outcomes for students.
Ongoing training and development
I have also attended frequent training events that have provided an up to date understanding of legislation and academic expectations. I achieved the recognition of “sector leading practise” in my Estyn school inspection. I have a Batchelor of Education (Hons) from the University of Wales, Caerleon, with additional diplomas in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. These qualifications allow me to use an empathetic approach to teaching, making the lessons bespoke to the student.
